Football Recap: Vega's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

Vega's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Memphis Cyclones a 20-0 shutout. Considering the Longhorns have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Vega's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3. As for Memphis, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Vega will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Farwell at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The game will give the Longhorns their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Memphis, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-35 defeat against Shamrock on the 10th.
