Softball Recap: South Rebels vs. Riverside Beavers
South lost to Riverside on Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rebels fell just short of the Beavers by a score of 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Rebels have lost by just one run.
Savannah Patton and Jenna Heil did some serious damage despite the final result: Patton went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double, while Heil went 4-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Lucy McNamara was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for South and nudges their season record down to 10-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Riverside, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. South will head out to challenge North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverside, they will take on Mayfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
