The Dale County Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Slocomb Red Tops at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Dale County barely beat Providence Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 17-5 victory on Tuesday. The Warriors not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th.
Shayleigh Whitman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Whitman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Bre Wilkerson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Grace Snellgrove, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.
Seven must be Slocomb's lucky number: they beat Pike Road with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Red Tops narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Patriots 7-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Red Tops, who have now won three games in a row.
The team relied heavily on Chloe Andrews, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Abrego, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Slocomb lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Slocomb pushed their record up to 11-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Dale County, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.
Slocomb's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dale County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. It's a different story for Slocomb, though, as they've only averaged .219. Will they be able to contain Dale County's hitters?
