             St. Joseph Catholic is 0-5 against Jackson Academy since September of 2017 but things could change  on Friday. The St. Joseph Catholic Bruins will take on the Jackson Academy Raiders at 7:00  p.m.
 St. Joseph Catholic is headed into Friday's   match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game  on Friday. They fell to St. Joseph  22-16.

 Jackson Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of   Kingston Mays, who gained 183 total yards and two touchdowns, and   Pruet James, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The dominant performance also gave  Mays a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Jackson Academy's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was  Tj White with  two. Another thorn in Lamar's side was  Dereon Albert, who picked up  a  sack, made six total tackles (2.0 for loss),  and defended a pass.
 Jackson Academy was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 260  rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lamar only rushed for -11.
 St. Joseph Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Jackson Academy, their victory was  their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 5-1.
 Friday's   matchup might be decided in the on the ground. St. Joseph Catholic has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 173.8  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Jackson Academy struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 193.3. It's looking like  Friday's  contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
 St. Joseph Catholic ended up a good deal behind  Jackson Academy in their previous matchup  back in September of 2023, losing  29-14. Can St. Joseph Catholic avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
