Preview: Wayne Trace Raiders vs. Fort Jennings Musketeers
Wayne Trace is 6-0 against Fort Jennings since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Wayne Trace Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Fort Jennings Musketeers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wayne Trace has three straight victories, Fort Jennings has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Wayne Trace didn't have too much trouble with Van Wert on the road as they won 42-27. Given Wayne Trace's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Van Wert is ranked 519th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fort Jennings had to suffer through a rough 72-33 loss at the hands of Crestview. Fort Jennings has struggled against Crestview recently, as their match on Monday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Wayne Trace has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Fort Jennings, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Wayne Trace strolled past Fort Jennings in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 34-17. Does Wayne Trace have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Jennings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
