Basketball Recap: Rosedale Christian Academy Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Rosedale Christian Academy Rosedale Panthers opened the new year with a less-than-successful 67-57 loss to the Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors. The Rosedale Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Rosedale Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jai'Saun Williams, who went 8 of 15 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. Williams continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jason Francisco-Hayes, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Mount Zion Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryce Long out in front who went 8 of 11 on his way to 25 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Long's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Walker, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Rosedale Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Mount Zion Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Rosedale Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 64-63 loss against New Hope Academy National on the 9th. As for Mount Zion Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-66 defeat against NC GBB Academy National on the 7th.
