Softball Game Preview: Seymour Eagles vs. Bearden Bulldogs

The Seymour Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Bearden Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Seymour and eight for Bearden.

On Thursday, Seymour came up short against West and fell 7-4.

Landry Terry was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

William Blount hit Bearden with a five-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs lost 10-0 to the Governors. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Bearden, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Seymour hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bearden struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Seymour suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Bearden in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
