Baseball Game Preview: Bennett Clippers vs. Parkside Rams

The Bennett Clippers will head out on the road to challenge the Parkside Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bennett proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Delmar, sneaking past 4-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkside). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Chincoteague a 14-0 shutout on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Ponies: they've now won three in a row.

Bennett's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Parkside, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Bennett might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Parkside when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Bennett avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
