Baseball Game Preview: Putnam Clippers vs. Killingly Trailblazers

Putnam hasn't had much luck against Killingly recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Clippers will welcome the Trailblazers at 3:45 p.m. Putnam will be strutting in after a victory while Killingly will be coming in after a defeat.

Putnam took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Windham.

Meanwhile, Killingly started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Woodstock Academy. They fell just short of the Centaurs by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.

Putnam is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Killingly, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
