Baseball Recap: Punxsutawney's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Punxsutawney had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Clearfield Bison as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Chucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Landon Neal was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Maddox Hetrick was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Punxsutawney, bringing their record up to 16-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Clearfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Punxsutawney nor Clearfield have any future games scheduled.
