Basketball Game Preview: Dixie County Bears vs. Bell Bulldogs

The Dixie County Bears just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Bell Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Dixie County is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They lost 51-27 to Lafayette. The contest was a close 18-17 at the break, but unfortunately for the Bears it sure didn't stay that way.

Meanwhile, Bell played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Trenton, falling 69-19. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-15.

Dixie County will have to contain Dacy Graham as she made an impact in Bell's last game. She posted six points along with nine boards and three steals. Graham has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Even though they lost, Bell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive games.

Dixie County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Bell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Dixie County was able to grind out a solid victory over Bell when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 38-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dixie County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
