Volleyball Game Preview: American Fork Cavemen vs. Westlake Thunder

The American Fork Cavemen will square off against the Westlake Thunder at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

American Fork is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Layton as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Cavemen not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 3-0).

American Fork was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-7, 26-24.

American Fork can attribute much of their success to Evan Olmstead, who had ten digs and five assists, and Jarett Santiago, who had six digs, two aces, and one block. That's the most aces Santiago has posted over his last six matches.

Meanwhile, Westlake had already won 11 in a row and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They blew past the Aviators 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-21.

Westlake pushed their record up to 22-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for American Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 8-15.

American Fork might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Westlake when the teams last played back in April. Can the Cavemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
