Basketball Recap: Leetonia's Win Ends 15-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leetonia). They walked away with a 58-51 win over the Lordstown Red Devils on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Leetonia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Johns, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 17 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Earl, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Leetonia was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Leetonia's win ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Lordstown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Leetonia will challenge United at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Leetonia is facing United at the right time seeing as United is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Lordstown, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mathews at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
