Basketball Recap: St. Pius X Falls Despite Big Games from Oliver Bowne and Kellen Biley

St. Pius X was the 41-39 winner over Village when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Pius X Panthers received a blow on Friday as they fell 58-40 to the Village Vikings. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Kellen Biley and Oliver Bowne certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Biley went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds, while Bowne posted ten points and three steals. What's more, Bowne also racked up four boards, the most he's had since back in November of 2023.

St. Pius X's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Village, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-13.

St. Pius X has already played their next match, a 53-49 victory against St. John XXIII on the 14th. As for Village, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-36 defeat against Houston Christian on the 14th.
