Soccer Game Preview: Mountain Empire vs. High Tech Mesa

The Mountain Empire Redhawks will challenge the High Tech Mesa Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Empire's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Thursday, Mountain Empire didn't have quite enough to beat Calipatria and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, High Tech Mesa was forced to settle for a draw. They and Victory Christian Academy finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

High Tech Mesa's draw makes their record 6-2-1 this season. As for Mountain Empire, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-3-1 record this season.

Mountain Empire suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to High Tech Mesa in their previous meeting two weeks ago. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mountain Empire was down 4-1.
