Basketball Recap: Wade Hampton Comes Up Short

Wade Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Dorman Cavaliers and fell 76-12. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 19th).

Ella Ray Reeves was Wade Hampton's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Morgan White was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-11 en route to 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Dorman. White is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last 16 games she's played. Makayla Moore was another key player, going 5-for-9 on her way to 11 points and three steals.

Wade Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Dorman, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

While Wade Hampton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
