Basketball Recap: LaSalle Comes Up Short

LaSalle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Montgomery Tigers 78-41. LaSalle was probably out for revenge after losing 76-42 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Montgomery's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacorian Shepherd, who dropped a double-double on ten boards and 14 assists. Those 14 assists gave Shepherd a new career-high. Latney Laysone was another key player, putting up 18 points and three steals.

LaSalle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaSalle will head out to face off against Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Montgomery, they will venture away from home to challenge Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
