Baseball Game Preview: Highland Fighting Scots vs. Bishop Watterson Eagles

The Highland Fighting Scots are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Bishop Watterson Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Highland is headed out to face Bishop Watterson after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Fighting Scots put the hurt on Hillsdale with a sharp 12-1 win on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bishop Watterson made easy work of Columbus Academy on Thursday and carried off a 12-4 victory.

Bishop Watterson got a great performance from Blaise Strausbaugh as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Chance Strausbaugh and Ben Burleson did most of the damage at the plate: Chance scored two runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4, while Burleson went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Brady McAninch was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
