Softball Game Preview: Juanita Ravens vs. Newport - Bellevue Knights

The Juanita Ravens will square off against the Newport - Bellevue Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Juanita turned things around against Lake Washington on Friday. They came out on top against the Kangaroos by a score of 5-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 5, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Elliott Parker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Josie Peeler was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Molly Benson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Peeler wasn't the only one making solid contact: Juanita kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Washington only managed five hits.

Meanwhile, Newport - Bellevue can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past Cedarcrest 10-8.

The team relied heavily on Demi Brown- Ruegg, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Barashkoff, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI.

The win got Newport - Bellevue back to even at 4-4-1. As for Juanita, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
