Recap: Fruita Monument Wildcats vs. Grand Junction Tigers

The Fruita Monument Wildcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 53-30 margin over Grand Junction. Fruita Monument has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Fruita Monument's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Max Orchard led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Austin Reed, who scored 12 points.

Fruita Monument pushed their record up to 15-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Grand Junction, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.

Fruita Monument won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Battle Mountain at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Battle Mountain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Fruita Monument is ranked fourth). Grand Junction's road trip will continue as they head out to face Grand Junction Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
