Basketball Recap: Miya Olson Key Part of a Team Effort in Saints Win

Tuscarawas Central Catholic won the last time they faced East Canton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints walked away with a 44-36 victory over the East Canton Hornets.

Tuscarawas Central Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Miya Olson out in front who posted 16 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nora Jackson, who earned 13 points.

Tuscarawas Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for East Canton, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tuscarawas Central Catholic will face off against Strasburg-Franklin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Strasburg-Franklin will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Tuscarawas Central Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Canton, they will challenge Fairless at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
