Basketball Game Preview: Jeff Davis Yellowjackets vs. Telfair County Trojans

Jeff Davis is 9-1 against Telfair County since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Jeff Davis Yellowjackets will welcome the Telfair County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Jeff Davis knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Telfair County likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Jeff Davis was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Wheeler County. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (60), the Yellowjackets still had to take the loss.

Jeff Davis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Malachi Smith, who posted 22 points, and James Benjamin, who earned 19 points. The contest was Benjamin's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Telfair County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 76-46 loss at the hands of Bacon County.

Jeff Davis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Telfair County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Jeff Davis didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Telfair County in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 65-59 victory.
