Softball Game Preview: Ottawa Hills Green Bears vs. Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets

The Ottawa Hills Green Bears will venture away from home to take on the Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ottawa Hills has given up an average of 19.5 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Ottawa Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Bowsher, taking the game 21-17.

Meanwhile, Cory-Rawson fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Spencerville on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 6-5. The Fighting Hornets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Addyson Duffman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan McVetta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one stolen base.

Ottawa Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Cory-Rawson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
