Softball Recap: South Comes Up Short

South fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against North on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 6-5. The Rebels have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

South saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Schneider, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Another was Linell Dichazy (Lakeland CC), who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

South's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for North, they moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, South and North will both be playing Mayfield the next time they take the field. The Rebels will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rangers will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
