Volleyball Recap: Yutan Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Yutan posted their closest win since September 11th on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Shelby-Rising City Huskies 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Chieftains, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Mylee Tichota paced Yutan's offense, picking up 29 kills. Tichota got some help from Morgan Long and her 24 assists. Long was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Shelby-Rising City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aleigha Escobar-Schaefer had 20 digs and three aces.

Yutan's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Shelby-Rising City, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-10.

Yutan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Thayer Central on the 29th. Shelby-Rising City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
