Recap: San Jacinto Tigers vs. Citrus Hill Hawks
Even though the Citrus Hill Hawks scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the San Jacinto Tigers still came out on top. San Jacinto managed a 69-63 win over the Hawks. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but San Jacinto was the better team in the second half.
Stephen Castleberry was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Mejia, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Citrus Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jerren White. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. White hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. Roland Thibodeaux was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Even though they lost, Citrus Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
San Jacinto now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Citrus Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Jacinto will take on the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tahquitz is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak. As for Citrus Hill, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m.
