            Softball Recap: Benson Bobcats vs. Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Pima  last Monday, Benson came back down to earth. The Bobcats fell just short of the Santa Cruz Valley Dust Devils by a score of  8-7 on Tuesday. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Dust Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
 Claire Parke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and six unearned) runs on seven hits.
 At the plate,  Millie Kellogg was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring three  runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sierra Olson, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
Benson now  has a losing record of 11-12. As for Santa Cruz Valley,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 12-6.
 Looking ahead, Benson will take on St. Augustine Catholic at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.63  runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they will welcome ALA - Anthem South  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Dust Devils are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on  a  five-game losing streak.
