Football Game Preview: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Montbello Warriors

The Vista Ridge Wolves will face off against the Montbello Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Vista Ridge came up short against Durango and fell 24-14.

Meanwhile, Montbello entered their tilt with Thomas Jefferson on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Spartans 35-19.

Vista Ridge better keep an eye on Amari Williams. He was instrumental in Montbello's win, rushing for 236 yards and four TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 31 receiving yards. Williams has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-5 otherwise. Montbello also got help from Zyaire Custis, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.

Montbello was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 279 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Montbello's record is now 4-6. As for Vista Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Everything came up roses for Vista Ridge against Montbello when the teams last played back in August, as the squad secured a 50-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
