Volleyball Recap: Southeast Falls Despite Big Games from Jaeda Dean and Layla Holmbeck

Southeast lost against Manatee back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Seminoles fell just short of the Hurricanes by a score of 2-1.

Southeast's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Layla Holmbeck, who had 26 assists and ten digs, and Jaeda Dean, who had nine kills and one block. Dean is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Manatee, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-8.

Southeast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Saint Stephen's Episcopal on the 22nd. As for Manatee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Braden River on the 23rd.
