Basketball Recap: Sullivan County Takes Down Galeton in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sullivan County had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Galeton Tigers by a score of 57-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Griffins.

Galeton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of GAVIN SHUTT, who went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points, and MASYN MALACZEWSKI, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 13 points along with three steals and three blocks. What's more, SHUTT also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. TREY SYKORA was another key player, putting up five points.

Sullivan County pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Galeton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

Sullivan County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-32 defeat against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional on the 22nd. Galeton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
