Baseball Recap: Hennessey Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hydro-Eakly

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hennessey). They had just enough and edged out the Hydro-Eakly Bobcats 12-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 4, 2024.

Westyn Hopkins was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hunter Weber, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Hennessey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hennessey has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. Hydro-Eakly dropped their record down to 2-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Hennessey will head out to challenge Pioneer-Pleasant Vale at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hydro-Eakly, they will square off against Perry at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
