Quartz Hill has won seven straight games at home, while Highland has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Royals will host the Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. Quartz Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Quartz Hill's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Temescal Canyon hitters got past them. The Royals came up short against the Titans on Saturday, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Royals have suffered since March 1st.
Quartz Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Terpstra, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Highland was able to grind out a solid win over Eastside on Thursday, taking the game 10-7.
Highland got a massive performance out of Paisley Memory, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave Memory a new career-high. Kenzie Martinez was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Highland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside struck out eight times.
Highland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Quartz Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Quartz Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
