Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Verrado Vipers

The Mountain Pointe Pride will head out to square off against the Verrado Vipers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Mountain Pointe came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against McClintock, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Verrado suffered their biggest defeat since May 3, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Desert Edge. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Vipers haven't been shut out since back in March.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 28-26.

This is the second loss in a row for Verrado and nudges their season record down to 21-8. As for Mountain Pointe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
