Baseball Recap: Martinsville Takes a Loss

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Perry Meridian Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Tuesday.

Martinsville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxton Proctor, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Perry Meridian, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Martinsville will square off against Terre Haute North Vigo at 5:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Perry Meridian, they will face off against Southport at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
