Baseball Game Preview: Pomona Red Devils vs. Diamond Ranch Panthers

The Pomona Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Diamond Ranch Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pomona's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over Workman. The Red Devils have beaten the Lobos the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lobos has come to flipping the script.

Pomona got a great performance from Vince Huguez as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Huguez has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Nicolas Montes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Ivan Lopez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Diamond Ranch gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Rowland 4-2.

The team relied heavily on Isaiah Aparicio, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Houdashelt, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Pomona now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Diamond Ranch, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
