With a playoff win on the line, Winona rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 21-8 win over the Belmont Cardinals. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Winona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dee Hudson led the charge by rushing for 127 yards on only seven carries, while also picking up 32 receiving yards and one TD. Landon Crawford was another key player, rushing for 27 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Winona was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 229 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 208 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Winona didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elijah Harbin and Jalon Oliver. Oliver also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 15. Alejandro White was another major factor on D, making 23 total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defending one pass.

Winona's record is now 8-4. As for Belmont, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Winona has already played their next contest (against Aberdeen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Belmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
