Softball Recap: Paradise Valley Trojans vs. Desert Edge Scorpions
Paradise Valley extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-13 in the process. They lost 14-1 to the Desert Edge Scorpions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Tuesday.
Paradise Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Prinster, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for Desert Edge, their record is now 9-12. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the match before.
On Desert Edge's side, Makayla Dudley (2025) made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Dudley (2025) was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, Desert Edge let Azerae Cantrell (2027) and Gwen Alvarez (2026) run wild. Cantrell (2027) went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Alvarez (2026) went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
