Softball Recap: Kerman Finds Playoff Glory Versus Tulare Union

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kerman had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Tulare Union Tribe 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-8 back in March.

Roxy Alvarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kerman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kymberly Higareda, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Kerman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Tulare Union, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-15.

Kerman has already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Shafter on the 20th. Tulare Union does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
