Football Recap: Putnam City Piles Up the Points Against Northwest Classen

While Putnam City put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Northwest Classen. The Pirates blew past the Knights 54-0. Considering the Pirates have won three games by more than 41 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Putnam City to victory were Schuylar Turnbull and Rodgerick Sloan. Turnbull threw for 133 yards and one touchdown while completing 87.5% of his passes, while Sloan rushed for 46 yards and one TD. Savion James did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.

The win was the third in a row for Putnam City, bringing their record up to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for Northwest Classen, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Putnam City will take on rival Choctaw at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. Meanwhile, Northwest Classen is set to face off against their familiar foe Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
