Basketball Recap: Berkmar Patriots vs. Duluth Wildcats
Berkmar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Duluth Wildcats and fell 59-19. The Patriots lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-39 score last time.
Duluth found their leader in freshman Za'Ni Carter, who went 8 for 13 on her way to 17 points. Kaylie Zirger was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Berkmar's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Duluth, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berkmar will venture away from home to challenge Parkview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Duluth, they will head out to take on North Gwinnett at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Gwinnett has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three games.
