Volleyball Preview: Nixa Eagles vs. Kickapoo Chiefs
Nixa is 9-1 against Kickapoo since September of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Nixa Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kickapoo Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Nixa will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Nixa made easy work of Waynesville and carried off a 3-0 victory.
A big factor in the win was Nixa's feisty defense: they held Waynesville to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-11.
Nixa was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're ace total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Kickapoo came up short against Ozark on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Kickapoo ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23.
Nixa's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Kickapoo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.
