Basketball Recap: Flathead Valley Falls to Bonners Ferry in First Game of Season

Flathead Valley had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bonners Ferry Badgers. The Crusaders lost against the Badgers in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 69-34 score last time.

Bonners Ferry found their leader in sophomore Taren Bateman, who went 14 for 27 on her way to 31 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. Bateman's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Hinthorn, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Bonners Ferry and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Flathead Valley and North Idaho Christian will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Bonners Ferry, they will welcome Lakeside at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
