Football Recap: Julian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Warner last Friday, Julian came back down to earth. The game between the Eagles and the Borrego Springs Rams didn't end well, with the Eagles falling 56-38. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost nine in a row.

Borrego Springs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christopher Alcaraz led the charge by rushing for 72 yards and two scores on only nine carries, while also throwing for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Alcaraz has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Travis Asche, who rushed for 161 yards and one TD while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.

Julian's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Borrego Springs, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Julian will challenge Calvin Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Borrego Springs will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' match: after the Eagles face off against the Crusaders, they'll take on Borrego Springs again at 3:30 p.m. on October 3.
