Volleyball Game Preview: New Kent Trojans vs. Lakeland Cavaliers

The New Kent Trojans will square off against the Lakeland Cavaliers on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Kent is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Hopewell 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12, 25-20.

Carina Dolci was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 digs and five aces. Those 11 digs gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Lakeland was able to grind out a solid victory over Heritage on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.

New Kent's record is now 17-4. As for Lakeland, their record now sits at 11-14.

Everything went New Kent's way against Lakeland in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as New Kent made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
