Volleyball Game Preview: Tatum Coyotes vs. Menaul Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Tatum Coyotes and the Menaul Panthers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Menaul took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Tatum, who comes in off a win.

While Tatum's win against Eunice wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Coyotes narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cardinals 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Coyotes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Tatum was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 17-25, 25-15, 15-4.

Meanwhile, Menaul lost 3-0 to Legacy Academy on Tuesday.

While Menaul ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-17.

Menaul's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Tatum, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.

Tatum suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Menaul in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can the Coyotes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
