Lakeland had lost seven games at home, but after bumping their record up to 10-17 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Sandpoint Bulldogs 14-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Abby Helmholz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Helmholz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other pitching news, Lakeland got a great performance from Reagan Masters as she struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Masters a new career-high.

Back at the plate, Raygen Dutton was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ada Blakemore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
As for Sandpoint, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games.
On Sandpoint's side, Baylie Hindle made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Arah Stevens, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
As of now, neither Lakeland nor Sandpoint have any future games scheduled.
