Soccer Game Preview: Glen Rock vs. Westwood

The Glen Rock Panthers will face off against the Westwood Cardinals on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Glen Rock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against West Milford as they made off with a 6-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for Glen Rock, who have now won four matches in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westwood). They blew past Wood-Ridge 7-1 on Wednesday. Given Westwood's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Wood-Ridge are ranked 211th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Glen Rock's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Westwood, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Glen Rock came out on top in a nail-biter against Westwood when the teams last played back in November of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
