Basketball Recap: Weslaco Piles Up the Points Against IDEA Quest College Prep

Weslaco not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 4th (when they won 72-20). They took their game with ease, bagging a 72-32 win over the IDEA Quest College Prep Trailblazers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 415th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 847th).

Kai L Fino continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8-for-15 en route to 20 points along with seven boards and six assists. Weslaco is undefeated when L Fino posts 20 or more points, but 6-7 otherwise. Kade Lopez was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Weslaco was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They are 8-3 when they've passed the ball that well.

The victory made it two in a row for Weslaco and bumps their season record up to 10-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points over those games. As for IDEA Quest College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
