Football Recap: Oak Hill Takes a Loss

After flying high against Morse last Saturday, Oak Hill came back down to earth. The Raiders took a 26-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dirigo Cougars on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 14-13 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Hudson Lufkin was nothing short of spectacular for Dirigo: he rushed for 157 yards and one score while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 135 yards and three TDs. Lufkin's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards dating back to last season. Tanner Bradden helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Oak Hill now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Dirigo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Oak Hill is set to challenge their familiar foe Freeport at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Dirigo will take on rival Winthrop at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
