Zoe Lemon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Davaney Prophet was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Alison Lefkowitz also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Worthington Christian waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Bobcats.
Like Bexley, Worthington Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Evie Smith. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Smith was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Katelyn Szczygiel-Hicks was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Charlotte Ball was another key player, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Worthington Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grandview Heights only posted a batting average of .310.
Worthington Christian pushed their record up to 5-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Bexley, their record now sits at 6-11.
Bexley came up short against Worthington Christian in their previous matchup on April 11th, falling 13-9. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
